Chris Brown has been in the media on a negative note ever since 2009. He's been targeted, banned, and chastised for his rebel behavior and heavy partying. But recently Chris' actions caught up with him and he was sent to jail for violating his parole. Chris was in jail for several months on a probation violation and reportedly it was the worst experience of his life and he vows to never ever return to jail again!

Well if you didn't know this guy you would say to yourself "Hmm this would be a awesome reality show!" And you wouldn't be the only one saying these things. Chris Brown has built multi-million dollar brand but, his messy personal life is highly marketable on reality TV.

TMZ is reporting that multiple (all cable I imagine) networks are vying for the Chris Brown reality show. A show that chronicles his life, struggles with sobriety, his possible jail time and his music career. Who are these networks well BET is the major front runner for the show. They are chomping at the bit to get the bid. They've got production companies set, ready to produce the show and they have even gone so far as to hold focus groups to see if people would really want to see a Chris Brown reality show. This focus group consisted of all African American females between the ages of 18 to 25.

As far the world knows Chris hasn't signed up for the idea nor denied it. But I doubt he will go through with this. Reality TV is for people who are at the tail end of their careers looking to start over or they have no career and are building one off of reality TV. Case in point: Real Housewives of Atlanta, Love and Hip Hop: NY & ATL, Real World, Teen Mom, etc. I could go on and on. Chris Brown's career is far from over. This dude was in jail and his song Loyal peaked! He didn't have to be around for his music to go global. His staying power is withstanding everything. RealTalk: this is unwanted attention and added drama that is not necessary. He's got a enough to deal with beyond worrying about a camera following him around.

According to the satirical blog Cream BMP Daily, Rapper/106&Park Host Shad "Bow Wow" Moss was fired from his hosting duties for misappropriation of company funds. They claimed that Bow Wow had used the company credit card that was issued to him for wardrobe and traveling expenses to pay for his back child support. Allegedly he owed $30,000 in back child support.

When I first read the article I knew it was fake. There would be no reason for him to use the company card to pay his child support. Bow Wow's salary at BET is more than enough to be able to take care of his 2 year old daughter Shai Moss (she'll be 3 in March). Reportedly Bow Wow makes more than $1,000,000 from his cushy hosting gig from BET. HipHopture.com decided to ask Bow Wow about the rumors via twitter. Here's his response:
"@HipHopture: @YMCMB_BW clear it for fans bro !! Clear what? That ill see yall at 6pm tomorrow live on TV like i do err day whats changed?" he tweeted on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
In typical arrogant fashion Bow Wow answers the question of his "firing" and adds more about his Ebony Magazine photoshoot.
"At @106andpark early doing my @EBONYMag photo shoot."

Bow has been in the news for a while. In regards to his child support that he owed almost 2 years ago, he claimed he only made $4,000 a month from YMCMB at the time and was unable to pay the money he owed. Then he got the call to host 106&Park. Bow Wow was rumored to receive only $200,000 in his contract with BET during the 4-Host concept. It was rumored he was hard to work with and therefore received the small payout to save face for BET in case they had to let him go. But eventually Mr. Moss' luck began to pick up and he was the standout host on the show being that he is "Mr. 106&Park". Even after the 4-Host concept was scrapped mid-season he stayed to host with many guest spots until a new permanent female co-host was found.

Then Bow Wow was used to catfish a young lady who had been one of his biggest fans since his career began. In the episode of Catfish the TV Show in 2013 his name and pictures were used to lure a young girl into a relationship with a gay female. The story made national news and dominated social media for weeks. Bow Wow even went to BET.com to respond how felt about someone using his name and pictures to online date. At first he was flattered but then it went into a tired rant about his eyes, tatts, and other crap that no one cared about. He then invited the gay female and the young lady who was catfished to BET's 106&Park to discuss the show and to give the young lady (who was heartbroken to find out it wasn't really him) a chance to meet her favorite rapper in person. For real this time LOL.

These satirical articles pop up all the time and they are usually put up for laughs to poke fun at the celebrities real lives. However he cleared it up and thats that. Bow Wow stayed at 106&Park even after the 4 host concept had ended. So I knew he was a commodity to BET and he's paid well for it. He couldn't have been having issues with child support now that his income has increased. And I was right cause he's worth an estimated $15 Million dollars, according to therichest.

Anyways Rumor Controlled!

*Correction: Earlier release of this story stated B. Scott was on CNN when in fact he was on MSNBC*

So, last year during the Red Carpet of the BET Awards B. Scott was hired as a Style Stage Correspondent and during the broadcast was asked the change his attire because it was too feminine and they wanted him to look more masculine. B. Scott was offended but ultimately obliged the network and changed his attire. But he never returned to the broadcast and situation was swept under the rug.

B. Scott decided that action needed to be taken and filed a lawsuit against BET for discrimination on the grounds of gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation.

Now months after the lawsuit was filed and even a television appearance on MSNBC by B. Scott and his lawyer, the gossip mecca of the world TMZ has acquired  proof that B. Scott was discriminated against and then they tried to cover it up with a spin story. Now their entire email correspondence has been "mysteriously" leaked. Check it out MSNBC Interview and the BET Emails:

Here's What Some of the Excerpts Said:
Before the Awards Show, BET music programming president wrote in an email: "I don't want 'looking like a woman B Scott.' I want tempered B Scott." Afterward, BET executives reportedly wanted to spin the incident to avoid a public relations nightmare.
"The spin should be he was late for a live show and subsequently replaced and it would have been awkward in a live show to have the person assuming his role removed and him inserted,"
"Unless we can make public the reason we didn't want him dressed the way he normally does, I would stay away from suits, suit selections, etc."
B. Scott released a statement via his blog:
"The leaked email exchange between BET/Viacom personnel is both shocking, and hurtful," he wrote. "While I’m disheartened by the blatant and intentional attempt to stifle my gender identity/expression way before the day of the event, I’m also thankful that the truth is starting to surface."
"It’s a shame that a company such as BET/Viacom would rather focus energy towards slandering my reputation in an attempt to further humiliate me instead of learning from their mistakes," he continued. "The time & energy spent creating a ‘spin’ could have more effectively been used to help create a more welcoming environment for LGBTQ employees."
BET responded to the Lawsuit B. Scott has filed against them:
"This claim has no merit and we are confident in our case," she told The Huffington Post. "We provided direction [to B. Scott] no different than other talent in similar    circumstances."

So Im an avid TV person. After last year when Catfish debuted I've been hooked on their show for a long time. But this Catfish was a little shocking but only toward the end. Here's the deal. Keyonnah was falling in love online with who she thought was Bow Wow aka Shad Moss. She admitted that she was skeptical from the beginning but after her online love sent her $10,000, let's just say that helped sway her mind. Long story short Nev and Max did some incredible detective work came up empty and were stumped almost believing that this was the famous rapper/slash music show host.

They presented the evidence found to Keyonnah who was devastated. She really believed that was him. She was a HUGE fan of his and still is and she was crushed when Nev and Max gave her the news. They decided the only way to get the real deal was to call the guy up and let him know that they all knew he wasn't Bow Wow. After the small phone confrontation the imposter relents and agreed to meet them at his cousins house, still giving the impression that he was Bow Wow.

See for yourself!

They met up with the guy at his cousins house and it turns out was a lesbian woman named Dee Pimpin, not a guy at all pretending to be Bow Wow. CATFISH SHOCKER! Seriously everyone knew that it wasn't Bow Wow but we all thought it was at least a man, Right? Anyway long story short it broke the poor girl's heart. Keyonnah was a sweet girl just happy to get attention from her favorite rap icon Bow Wow. I felt really bad for her. She was genuinely hurt by the lies and deceit. Anyway Keyonnah ended up not contacting Dee again.

Now to the good part. Bow Wow was probably notified via twitter or some other social network about the show and he responded via the BET network and well look at the video...

He was a real good sport about it. Honestly I expected him to be upset cause most people would be. But he was flattered and quite happy for the free publicity, lol. He also did something that never would've crossed my mind in years: He invited them to his show 106&Park to discuss it! Wow I guess Keyonnah may get to meet her idol after all! I hope that everything goes smooth with Dee Pimpin being there and all. Good for Bow Wow being such a good sport and I hope that everyone is in good spirits if this does happen. Now I haven't watched 106&Park since I was 17. That was 10 years ago, but I will watch that episode if it ever happens!

BET's 106 & Park History & Future!
"The Old Logo of the Popular BET Show 106 & Park: Top 10 Live"

First Generation

106 and park has a great history in music and superior lineage in keeping music videos viable in the market. Outlasting its competition TRL: Total Request Live with Carson Daly on MTV. It began slowly in the early 2000s originally released as a late nigh, 1 hour show. With its popularity growing it gradually moved to the late afternoon spot at 6e/5c and expanded to 90 minutes. 106 & Park began with the original hosts Aj Calloway and Marie "Free" Wright on September 11, 2000 until they left the show on July 18, 2005.

Later on that year Julissa Bermudez and Big Tigger began hosting. They lasted until the end of the 2006 season, which also featured a slew of celebrity hosts sometimes co-hosting with Julissa or Big Tigger or 2 celebrities hosted the show in its entirety.

Second Generation

On July 6, 2006, Raquel "Rocsi" Roxanne Diaz of Power 92.3 Chicago began co-hosting 106 & Park permanently for the next 6 years with Terrence "Terrence J" Jenkins who got the gig by winning the BET New Faces Contest. Rocsi and Terrence J ushered in the new 106 & Park era and logo for the show by focusing on the fans via social media networks. In May of 2012 they announced they would be leaving the show. On September 28, 2012, Rocsi and Terrence J had their highly anticipated farewell show and it was star studded with many celebs wishing the hosts the best on the next installment to their careers. Terrence J is moving forward to bigger things with acting in such as films as the hit "Think Like a Man", "Sparkle", "The Heart Specialist", "Stomp the Yard 2: The Homecoming", and many more. But his more recent gig is going to be replacing Ryan Seacrest on E! News along with heading up his own company called Jenkins Entertainment Group that specializes in hosting, consulting and marketing. He's also working on a new movie called Battle of the Year: The Dream Team and of course Think Like a Man 2. Rocsi Diaz has dabbled acting as well in films like the upcoming "Gang of Roses 2: Next Generation", "Soul Ties", & "The Last Letter". She also has a nationally syndicated radio show called Rocsi on the Radio (http://rocsiontheradio.com/).

With their star hosts leaving the show BET hosted a nationwide search open to the public for the next 106 & Park hosts. With the thousands of entrants 3 people were chosen to become the new faces of BET's 106 & Park. Kimberly "Paigion" Walker, Jordan "Shorty Da Prince" Johnson, Mykel "Miss Mykie" Grey. BET added a 4th host to the bunch a 106 & Park Icon...Mr. 106 & Park himself Shad "Bow Wow" Moss.

Bow Wow got his nickname "Mr. 106 & Park" by his countless hits being voted to #1, staying at #1, and retiring at #1 from the time of its release. Hits like "Bounce with Me", "My Baby", "Puppy Love", "Outta My System", "Shortie Like Mine, Feat. Chris Brown" and countless more retired at number one. To this day he is the only artist that has ever retired more than 1 hit on the television show in its history (With the exception of his female counterpart the late Aaliyah who was dubbed "Mrs. 106 & Park" posthumously)! Along with his ever expanding career Bow Wow will be a host of the show alongside the 3 winners of BET's The Search for the Next 106 & Park Hosts.

What do I think...Well...

106 & Park began with my generation. We loved it! It was new and fresh and it provided us a way to stay connected with our favorite music artists. I loved Aj and Free when they hosted and I missed them when they left. When Julissa and Big Tigger came into the picture to take over they were not well received. From the people that I was around including myself we all thought that the show just wasn't the same for a long time. I felt like Julissa wasn't warm enough to be the host. She just seemed very cold and boring. Big Tigger was never a problem for me, I thought he was great. He was lively, funny, engaging, would've done wonders as the host. Hell he made Rap City a fixture on BET for YEARS! It just felt like the two of them together didn't have great chemistry and it showed. When Rocsi and Terrence J took over I thought it was a good look. It took a little bit for people to get use to them being the hosts (like 2 YEARS) but they have great chemistry, they were really fun and relatable which made watching the show fun again.

After awhile I stopped watching 106 & park not because I didn't like the show, I just outgrew it. I was 14 years old when the first 106 & Park came on and now at the age of 27 I'm no longer into the show. However, that doesn't mean I don't support it or feel like it should end. I loved it when I was an avid watcher and I still love it as an older fan who watches occasionally, LOL.

"Miss Mykie, Paigion, Shorty Da Prince, and Bow Wow, via BET.com"

Bow Wow being one of the hosts on the show seems like a given. Out of all the artists that have been featured his videos have been retired the most and thats a huge accomplishment. The other 3 hosts I am not familiar with. I only know of them through research and 106 & Park. Only time will tell if they will fit into the 106 & Park Universe. Personally I think four hosts is too much. I havent watched the new episodes to see how it works but since they are active into social media they probably have 1 host handle the twitter feed, 1 on Facebook feeds, and the others interacting with the crowd and introducing videos. I'm only guessing if you know different please let me know. I hope the show goes off without a hitch and everything works out with them. These hosts are no slouches, they seem well educated in their respective fields and just like Terrence J and Rocsi I hope they use 106 & Park as a stepping stone to bigger and better things. Congrats to the New Hosts and GOOD LUCK!

Watch BET's 106 & Park @ 6e/5c Monday thru Friday
