There are many feminist movements I can get behind when it encourages a woman to fight for equal rights, but this is WAY OVER THE TOP! I will NEVER EVER EVER join this movement because its disgusting, unsanitary and just flat out STUPID!
There is a trend amongst feminist bloggers and activists that is called free bleeding. Free Bleeding is supposed to be a movement to free women of the bonds of man. The definition of this idiotic movement is as follows:
Free Bleeding: in which a woman who is menstruating chooses to use feminine products no longer, in exchange for allowing her blood to flow “freely” out of her body, staining her clothing and running down her thighs to wherever it may end up.The idea behind this movement has 2 parts. "One, is that a woman’s time of the month should not be considered something unclean and unnatural, something to be hidden and cleaned up hastily before it has the chance to offend anyone who may become privy to the fact that said woman’s body is evacuating her loins of unused baby blood. The second, being that tampons, pads, and other feminine hygiene products are “man” made inventions, intended to inadvertently rape a woman during her period, thus furthering her victim status as a woman living in a world run by men. These two reasons combined, have produced the idea that women need to make a stand against the practice of wearing products which collect, absorb, and discard the menstrual flow. That by letting it run freely, is the way nature intended us to deal with our monthly."
This movement is disgusting. I can't with this I just can't! This is unsanitary and it can cause serious issues with a women's health. Walking around with blood streaming down your legs is disgusting. There are two kinds of factors to think about: Smell & Health.
Smell:
Blood rots and smells after time. The vaginal area is sensitive and can become infected with all the old rotting blood, plus factor in the other waste byproducts that exists the body (urine, etc) and you've got a dangerous cocktail that cause serious serious problems. Its too much. You have to clean yourself up. You cannot walk around with with waste streaming down your leg. Its nasty and unsanitary. Blood clots and all you need to use sanitary napkins (pads) and or tampons. Clean yourself clean during your monthly. Ensure that you change your sanitary napkin every 6 hours and tampons every 2 hours. If your menstrual flow is heavier than the norm that time may need to be shortened. Blood has a horrid smell after time and it can be offensive and sickening if not cared for properly.
Health:
Our vagina has living bacteria. Which is why many doctors advise against using a douche. A douche is a cleaning apparatus that is inserted into the vagina to remove any toxins and or bad bacteria. But when trying to remove the bad bacteria it also removes the good. Leaving the vagina vulnerable to be attacked by bad bacteria.
Allowing yourself to bleed freely is unhealthy. These sanitary napkins, tampons, and cleansing products were invented to keep us clean and healthy. There is no reason to not use these products. This has nothing to do with man made products or man trying to control women. These products were created to aid us in our ability to help get our hygiene under control and keep us healthy and sanitized. No way would I even consider this #freebleeding. It's reckless and playing with every one's lives. Accepting free bleeding is like saying its okay to urinate and defecate in public. Its natural and everyone does it. Its what nature intended right? Yeah I knew you would change your mind after I mentioned that way. Just L.I.G. it!
DO NOT DO THIS TREND IS IT WRONG AND UNHEALTHY. BELIEVE ME YOU CAN BE PRO WOMAN AND STILL USE PADS AND TAMPONS. TRUST ME! PROTECT YOURSELF AND KEEP YOURSELF CLEAN!
